I think about this trip every day. I find myself mentally wandering these spaces when life in Nashville gets boring or stressful. I was lucky enough to study abroad with Belmont University to see England, Scotland, and Ireland. Before going, everyone told me that Ireland would be my favorite. They told me that it was like no other place and that I would likely be most impacted by that place. I too believed this would be my favorite place. With almost pure Scotts-Irish blood on my mother’s side, I believed that I would feel a heritage in one of these countries. Although I loved Ireland, my heart is forever tied to Scotland. The landscape is so intoxicating. The highlands introduced me to a shade of green I never knew existed. I find myself these days having beautiful dreams at night incorporating this environment. I hope someday soon to return with my family. I feel such a connection to this country. I know I have heritage here.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”― Mark Twain
